    It is an indisputable, devastating fact that aging takes a toll on a body.  As studied and witnessed in any organism, the outer shell begins to lose muscle density, causing the bones to slowly weaken and turn fragile.  It is no coincidence that falls are the leading cause of fatalities in people 65 years and older.  Their bones break easily, and it is too difficult for their body to recover.


    RAD140 is a synthetic compound of elements being researched and developed to combat muscle wasting disorders by building muscle mass. It is also being studied in connection with fighting breast cancer. Some experts say RAD140 could potentially be used to replace testosterone completely.


    The body genetically produces quantities of estrogen and testosterone.  Generally thought of in reference to the sexual function, both estrogen and testosterone affect many other areas of the body, including bone density.

    Research has been conducted into creating compounds that cause a similar reaction in the body as estrogen and testosterone do.  These are called SARMs

  • RAD140 in relation to Androgens

    The body naturally produces male and female hormones.  Biologically speaking, the human body is a bunch of molecules bonded together.  The receptors – such as those for pain and pleasure – send a message along the synapses to the brain.

    The receptors that receive the messages are known as the androgen (male) and anti-androgen (female) receptors.  These naturally-occurring hormones affect sexual development, bone strength and a plethora of other bodily functions.


    Animals (such as humans and rats) have natural receptors which receive signals from the hormones and relay the signals to the brain.  Too much or not enough hormones can cause a variety of problems.  Scientists have been researching and experimenting in laboratories since the 1940s in an effort to find a solution to these problems.

  • What is a SARM?

    SARM stands for Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator.  The difference between SARMS and non-natural steroids are that synthetic steroids affect parts of the body they aren’t intended to, whereas the SARMs are manufactured to affect only the intended receptors. This makes SARMs something of a scientific breakthrough because the side effects are less drastic.

    RAD140 is what is known as a “modulator.’  This means it specifically targets a certain receptor in the body and only sends messages to that receptor.  This kind of precision reduces unwanted and potentially dangerous side effects.

    While it is considered one of the newest and most effective SARMs, RAD140 has been around for decades.  It was in the researching phase until 2010 when the owning company – Radius Health Inc. – released information to the public for the first time.  It was an accidental creation by the research team during their larger research on the androgen receptor pathways.
